With March 31, 2012, LIP South Scarborough has ended its work and is currently transitioning into the Toronto East Quadrant LIP project. The resources produced by LIP South Scarborough will continue to be accessible from this website, however, this site will no longer be updated as of March 31, 2012.

Description: Elizabeth Fry Toronto provides supportive services, community-based programs and transitional housing to help women create meaningful change in their lives for the benefit of themselves, their families and the community as a whole. Resource: International qualifications assessment and recognition (New website)
  Citizenship and Immigration Canada has launched a website in January 2012 that promotes innovation in the assessment and recognition of foreign worker qualifications.

Event: Canadian Citizenship Preparation Sessions
Description: This is a six days session where you will learn about Canadian history, geography and government system. You will also learn what your responsibilities and rights are as a Canadian citizen. Two practice tests will be provided to prepare you for the actual test and evaluate your knowledge. Workshop: Connect Legal – Advice for Immigrant Entrepreneurs
Description: This service provides legal workshops and a free lawyer matching program to eligible immigrant entrepreneurs. Connect Legal assists immigrants who have been in Canada for less then 10 years, are looking to launch or grow a business and can’t afford a lawyer.

Update: A New Housing Program for Newcomers
Description: This service will assist newcomers, who are in difficult housing situations, to find safer and more affordable housing.  The two components of our program are individual case management services and the Housing Information Line.
